Program Description
All students take 18 hours of core courses, 9 hours of program-specific courses, plus 9 hours of worship praxis courses to prepare them to serve as worship educators and leaders. The core requirements are designed to provide a strong biblical, theological, and philosophical foundation in Christian worship for students currently serving or preparing to serve in worship ministry.
Additional Program Information
In addition to previously stated admission requirements, the following program-specific requirements must be met:
Admission Requirements for DBU Graduate Ministry Degrees in the Graduate School of Ministry
Applicants are required to have a staff member or church official from their church submit the "Church Membership Recommendation" form that is included in the application.
Since Dallas Baptist University is an unapologetically evangelical and Christ-centered institution, applicants are required to affirm their agreement with the following beliefs: The Old and New Testaments of the Bible alone are the divinely inspired, entirely trustworthy, and infallible Words of God. There is one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are the same substance and equal in power and glory. Salvation from sins is only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who alone is Savior and Lord.
Admission into the MA in Worship Studies program is by audition only in consultation with the Program Director.
