Program Description

The Master of Arts in Theological Studies prepares servant leaders for Christian ministry by providing a broad foundation in biblical, historical, theological, hermeneutical, and practical ministry studies. The Master of Arts in Theological Studies provides students who are preparing for careers in ministry and those seeking advanced understandings of the foundations of Christian faith the opportunity to combine classical graduate theological education with practical ministry training. Concentrations in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Leadership allow students the opportunity to adjust academic experiences to meet differing personal ministry needs.

Additional Program Information

In addition to previously stated admission requirements, the following program-specific requirements must be met:

  • Admission Requirements for DBU Graduate Ministry Degrees in the Graduate School of Ministry

    • Applicants are required to have a staff member or church official from their church submit the "Church Membership Recommendation" form that is included in the application.

    • Since Dallas Baptist University is an unapologetically evangelical and Christ-centered institution, applicants are required to affirm their agreement with the following beliefs: The Old and New Testaments of the Bible alone are the divinely inspired, entirely trustworthy, and infallible Words of God. There is one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are the same substance and equal in power and glory. Salvation from sins is only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who alone is Savior and Lord.
