Practical songwriting training with a lyrics-first approach. Students will model storytelling techniques, metaphor, and metered poetry in various songwriting assignments. Students will write songs in a variety of genres including blues and strophic song, with prompts meant to stretch the writing muscle and creative process. Open to all students. Self-accompanying skills encouraged but not required.
