Students pursuing the Commercial Music Songwriting emphasis will take four (4) semesters of Songwriters Studio throughout their degree. Songwriting Emphasis students will engage in faculty-guided peer feedback. Each student will be required to write and present/perform one new song per week. This provides peer pressure and accountability, encouraging songwriters to continue developing their craft, fostering growth through healthy competition. Additionally, student songwriters will practice both giving and receiving candid peer feedback, thereby developing their ability to think critically, make meaningful rewrites, and accept notes with professionalism.
